Kennels

The Kennels is a family run business.and has been since 1997. We provide a friendly and secure service which seems to work very well as we have many regular customers.

All Kennels are situated side by side with a view onto an open field and not each other (which we find reduces barking and stress for the more timid)

Each Kennels is fully central heated and has a separate sleeping area with a raised platform and a covered run, the floors are painted blue because we find that the colour helps dogs relax easier and we find that it helps dog that are partially sighted, ribbed rubber safety mats are there for the older dogs and to keep the cold away in the winter, high impact plastic dog beds are in each kennel.

Large and extra large dogs are very welcome here, we have had extra large dogs of our own so we have larger kennels available for them.

(Giotto a very tall Great Dane and timid to)

At the present moment the kennels is under going some major work with door replacement, paint and metal work so some of the pictures show some of this work and some older pictures do not.

Feeding

Feeding is a very important thing to us and we are happy to feed your dog with whatever it may be, some dogs feeding habits and tastes change when they go into kennels so we do our very best to make sure that when you return to collect your dog that they are in prefect health and if there has been a change you will be notified of what has been done.

We stock a wide range of dry dog food .One of our dried foods is a wheat gluten free, it is an amazingly common thing that alot of dogs (we have found over the years) have an intolerance to wheat as human have to nuts or dairy, (one food manufacturer has done a wheat gluten, beef and dairy free food, Well done)

Our wet food (tinned) is wide in variaty too, we keep a Beef,Game & Vegetable in gravy. Chicken & Sunflower Oil in Jelly.  Rabbit,Chicken & Vegetable in gravy. Lamb & Tripe in jelly. Chicken,Turkey & Pasta in a tomato flavour sauce, Oh and Turkey and Cranberry (seasonal) and this is just our regular tinned food, this does not include our tinned Healthy Balance which has several flavours or our Foil packed in six flavours. Puppy food from Age 8 weeks on including junior in dry and tinned.

If you wish to bring your own food you are welcome to.

Puppies are

 welcome

Exercise

We exercise in 10 acres of family owned land in the beautiful Welsh Countryside. The Kennels is a One to One service with only the dog or dogs that occupy that kennel going out, that means to lower the risk of fighting and stress for the dogs

Within the 10 acres of land we have a 2.5 acres fully fenced and gated where the dogs can be let off of there leads and run around and play, we supervise all dogs wheather they are out on the lead or in the playpen.

Special Needs

With a Kennels comes responsibility and trust, we are responsable for your dog and you trust us to look after your dog

some dog need extra care, some dogs need medication (pills, liquids) injections (diabetes, antibiotics), we are well versed in giving most medication to most animals. we have been doing this for some time, this is a free service and no extra costs involved.

If your dog is on medication and requires further attention, we immediatly take them to the vet or we have them come out to us with there 24hr call out service. We also have experience with blind and partialy sighted dogs

For 2010 we are using several local Veterinary Practices (due to customer request) which includes Ruthin, Bala, Corwen, Llangollen and Chirk.  If any dog or cat falls ill for any reason we contact your vet so we can del with the situation at once.  Then we will contact you or the person stippulated on your card to inform you or them of the situation.  We also look after the Blind, the Deaf/Hard of hearing, Stroke Victims and we have a Paraplegic cat that come to stay.

Home Comforts

We supply all hard beds and bedding and toys, but if you wish to bring bedding, toys or that old jumper the dog sleeps on, or with from home you are more than welcome, this is a good idea for 1st time boarders for that familiar smell from home which will help your dog settle in easier.

It is Important that your dog is fully vaccinated, all dogs must have Kennel Cough (please don`t be mislead by the name of it), Kennel Cough is not part of your dog 1st and 2nd injection or booster, for more infomation please contact your Vet
